In a shocking incident, gold and silver jewellery with an estimated worth of Rs 60 to 70 lakh were stolen from a residence in New Manushpur, Bandel. The theft occurred while railway employee Jitendra Yadav and his wife were visiting his in-laws in Dhanbad.
On Thursday morning, Jitendra Yadav left for Dhanbad, leaving his younger brother Sudhir Yadav at home. Sudhir, who had night duty, left the house for work. Upon returning home the next morning, Sudhir discovered that the main gate lock was broken and immediately reported the incident to the Bundel PP police.
Upon arrival, the police found that two cupboards had been broken into, and all the valuable items were missing. Interestingly, a few days prior, a new tenant had moved in on rent, residing on the upper floor of the same house. The landlord, Pintu Kumar Nath, claimed to be unaware of the theft.
Local residents were taken aback by the audacity of the robbery, as such incidents were rare in the area. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, aiming to apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen jewellery.
This incident has raised concerns about the security and safety of residential areas in New Manushpur, prompting residents to demand increased vigilance and enhanced security measures.
